Employment based in Switzerland at Cemex Innovation Holding ag, Brügg BE;

Yearly internship program from February 2025 till January 2026

Position purpose

Participate in collaborations with multidiscipline and multicultural teams across different intellectual arenas to produce concepts, ideas, materials, molds, formwork, and prototypes. Leverage Cemex technology strength by exploring the limits conceptually and realizing the possibilities through digital and analog fabrication techniques. Project to be developed: Development of digital fabrication techniques with concrete.

Activities:
  • Collaborate with team members on a broad range of research goals to develop new and innovative ideas;
  • Develop 3D models to visualize and simulate ideas;
  • Support our technical team with drawings and specifications to facilitate efficient and timely production of prototypes;
  • Work alongside our technical team in the lab environment to assist in fabrication of full-scale prototypes;
  • Document and organize in a presentable way all projects through video, image and text;
  • Post and run CNC 3 Axis milling files with a range of materials;
  • Operate autonomously and take initiative to achieve positive result.
Our requirements:
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English at least B2 level;
  • Student status/ PhD student status in field of Paid Internship in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering etc.;
  • The student should have hands-on construction experience with a variety of materials to ensure they have competency with manual and power tools;
  • Proficiency in Rhino/Grasshopper, Autocad or similar is preferred;
  • Operation of a 3 or more Axis CNC machine and 3D printer is a plus but not required;
  • Experience with photo/video documentation and editing;
  • Documents required for application: Personal CV, personal letter of motivation;
  • Documents nice to have: professor’s letter of recommendation, validation of English fluency.
